Hydro Miner Integration
Turn mining heat into floor warmth — silent, efficient home heating
Overview: Hydro miner → Boiler → Floor heating & hot water
How It Works
A water-cooled (hydro) Bitcoin miner produces a lot of heat while it works. Instead of wasting this thermal energy, you can route the hot water directly into your home heating system — turning every watt of mining power into useful warmth.
Technical Solution
- Connect the miner's water inlet and outlet to a closed water loop
- Route the hot water from the miner into an indirect hot water tank (boiler / heat exchanger)
- The boiler transfers the heat from the miner's water to your own heating system without mixing the water
- The heated water then circulates through floor heating loops throughout the house, providing even and comfortable heating in every room
It's essentially a form of heat recovery where the miner becomes your heat source.
Benefits
- Nearly 100% heat efficiency — almost all energy going to the miner is converted into useful heat for your floor heating
- Silent and comfortable — water-cooled miners are significantly quieter than air-cooled models, with even heating throughout the home
- Seamless integration — works with existing water-based (vannbåren) floor heating systems
- Adjustable power — easily adjust the miner's power output (typically 1–4 kW) based on how much heat the house needs
- Summer flexibility — shut off the heating loop and divert heat elsewhere (pool, outdoor dump radiator, etc.)
Summary
The hydro miner works as an efficient, silent heat source that mines Bitcoin — directly integrated with your floor heating system. This is one of the most energy-efficient ways to mine at home, because the heat you produce anyway is used to warm up your entire home.
